The Seychelles is made up of 115 islands, each one with its own little charm. With their white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters and tropical forests, you will feel like you’re in paradise. The Seychelles is also home to two UNESCO World Heritage sites: Vallee de Mai nature park and the Aldabra Atoll. The Vallee de Mai nature park is on Praslin Island, where you will find the rare coco de mer palm trees. The Aldabra Atoll is made up of four islands, surrounded by coral reef and is the world’s second largest coral atoll. It is also home to 152,000 giant tortoises.

The largest island in the Seychelles is Mahé, which is home to the capital of the Seychelles, Victoria, where 90% of the Seychelles population live. Mahé is well-known for its beaches, with 70 picturesque beaches on the island just waiting to be explored. The most famous beach is the Beau Vallo, which is known for its clear blue waters, making this the perfect place to go swimming or snorkelling, with an abundance of colourful fish and even some coral reefs to discover. The National Botanical Gardens is also another highlight of Mahé Island, the garden is full of tropical plants and interesting animals to learn about, including the fruit bat and famous giant tortoises – you can even feed them whilst you are there!

Santonda Island is located north of Sumbawa and is a ring-shaped island with a saltwater lake in the middle, a result of the island forming after the eruption of Mount Satonda volcano. This is a unique island which offers panoramic views to all of its visitors, so make sure you bring your camera! Whilst you are there you can walk along the white sanded beaches and marvel at the view. Or if you are feeling adventurous, there are a variety of activities on offer including snorkelling and scuba diving right near the coral reefs, you may even catch sight of the hawksbill turtles.

Moyo island is a secluded and peaceful island which is not well-known by many tourists. Relax on the beautiful and pristine beaches or take a dip in the sea. Continuing exploring the island by taking a walk in the forest and discover the magnificent Mata Jitu waterfall or visit the nature reserve in Saleh Bay. You will find lots of exotic animals and wildlife there, including wild oxen, deer, wild boars and countless different types of birds.

Komodo National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Indonesia and includes the three larger islands – Komodo, Padar and Rinca.
