Day 1: Sal Island
You’ll fly into Amílcar Cabral International Airport on Sal Island. From here your driver will pick you up and take you to your four-star hotel where you can check in and relax.
Day 2: Sal Island
You have a full day to explore the diverse landscape of the island. Call our experts for top tips on the most memorable experiences from diving and snorkelling to hiking and where to have the best night with live creole music by the beach.
Day 3: Palmeira (Sal Island)
Begin your luxury 7-night Cape Verde archipelago cruise adventure with embarkation at 16.00hrs. We set sail from the port of Palmeira on Sal Island. If you arrive early, check in and explore the charming fishing town.
Admire the brightly coloured little boats that are dotted along the beautiful coastline, and the collection of cafes and shops. You are invited to attend the Welcome cocktail party in the evening. Meet the captain, crew and your fellow guests. Dine on board and enjoy midnight star studded views as we sail for Boa Vista.
Day 4: Sal Rei (Boa Vista island)
We arrive at Sal Rei, on Boa Vista Island, early in the morning. The white sandy beaches definitely live up to the idyllic island’s name of “good view”. Join our optional full day excursion and explore the secluded paradise isle.
Observe the volcanic landscapes of the Viana Desert and the sprawling sandy stretches where sea turtles come to nest. The villages are picturesque and colourful, and home to artisan craftspeople. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant and relax on the beach in the afternoon. On our return to the ship, we sail towards Santiago Island.
Day 5: Praia (Santiago island)
Praia, on the island of Santiago, boasts exceptional views from its plateau raised old town centre. Enjoy a free morning exploring the capital and largest city of the Cape Verde archipelago.
Lunch is served on board. In the afternoon, join our optional excursion to Cidade Velha. The oldest settlement and first colonial outpost in the archipelago is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It boasts the original street layout and the remains of a 16th century royal fortress and two churches. Dinner on board, as we sail north to the island of Fogo.
Day 6: Sao Felipe (Fogo island)
Join our optional full day excursion to explore the wonders of Fogo Island. With the highest altitude of all of the Cape Verde islands, Fogo rises up almost 3,000 metres above sea level and is dominated by the active volcano, Pico do Fogo.
Walk through a lava landscape to the crater’s edge, before enjoying lunch at the crater’s village. We also visit the charming west coast town of Sao Felipe to admire the distinctive richly decorated facades of the colonial buildings in the 2nd oldest town in archipelago.
Day 7: Mindelo (Sao Vincente Island)
The vibrant port city of Mindelo, on Sao Vincente Island, is a bustling hub of culture, history and activity. One of the most well preserved colonial cities in Cape Verde, Mindelo boasts a picturesque port lined with colourful properties, a stunning mountainous backdrop and a carnival atmosphere.
Visit the National Museum of Handicrafts, galleries, cafes and restaurants, and shop for souvenirs. The traditional music of the Cape Verde archipelago is bound to accompany your experience wherever you wander. During carnival season you can expect to see the city come alive in a riot of colour and music.
Day 8: Mindelo (Sao Vincente Island) – Porto Novo (Santo Antao)
We depart for the island of Santo Antao early in the morning. As the greenest of all of the Cape Verde Islands, Santo Antao boasts a captivating and contrasting landscape of lush sugar cane plantations and fertile lava craters.
Join our optional full day excursion to the valley where sugar cane is still harvested, and sample the archipelago’s national “grogue” drink. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the gorges and ravines that caress the coastal roads. In the Valley of Ribeira das Patas discover usual and unique rock-lava formations. Dinner on board and overnight in port.
Day 9: Porto Novo (Santo Antao)
On the final day of your Cape Verde adventure join our optional excursion to the western side of Santo Antao Island. Admire the scenic rocky sculptures of the mountains and arid landscapes from an altitude of 1100m. The prime vantage point offers stunning views of the island in all directions.
Enjoy free time exploring the Jurassic-like setting on a hike. The city of Porto Novo is the largest urban settlement on the island and features a harbour and a town square. In the evening, join your fellow guests at the captain’s farewell dinner on board.
Day 10: Palmeira (Sal Island)
We arrive at the port of Palmeira, on the island of Sal, early in the morning. After breakfast it’s time for disembarkation at 8.00-9.00hrs. Say goodbye to your new friends and transfer to your hotel. You have the rest of the day to discover more of the island; explore the lush interior or enjoy a spa treatment.
Day 11: Sal Island
Private transfer to the airport to begin your journey home.
