Day 2: Kratie And The Dolphin Grounds

After breakfast, join our expedition to Koh Trong Island. The small and charming Mekong River hamlet can be explored by bicycle or ox cart. Get a taste of authentic Khmer rural life on a visit to a local school. At a nearby reforestation site you can leave your mark behind by planting a tree.

We arrive and moor just off Kratie after lunch and continue onwards to the dolphin grounds via the local boat service. Have your binoculars and camera at the ready, as playful, elusive Irrawaddy dolphins are waiting to be spotted.

Silk Island - Unforgettable Cruises

Day 3: Koh Okhna Tey

As we continue sailing downstream after breakfast, enjoy the entertainment of our educational lectures and film presentations. On a visit to Koh Okhna Tey, or ‘silk island’ as it’s more commonly locally known, learn all about the silk making process and watch expert weavers at work. There is also an opportunity to observe a demonstration of the ancient Khmer martial art of Bokator. We sail downstream to the meeting point of the Tonle and Mekong Rivers. On board, enjoy an evening lecture on the history of Angkor and Khmer culture.

Begin the day with an inspiring and stimulating orientation of Cambodia’s capital city Phnom Penh. Hop on a cyclo (bicycle taxi) and visit the delightful and impressive Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and the National Museum.
In the afternoon, join our guided tour to the infamous Killing Fields and the Genocide museum. If you prefer, you can take a tuk-tuk down to the enchanting riverfront and enjoy a delicious high tea at the iconic Raffles Hotel.
