Day 1: Anchorage in Malé
Your luxury cruise ship is conveniently anchored just 20 minutes away from Male International Airport, in Villigili, Malé’s fifth district. Our Guest Relations Officer is ready to meet you. On embarkation you can relax in your cabin before joining your fellow passengers at the Welcome meeting.
You will also have an opportunity to meet the captain and the crew. After the introductions, enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail in the bar or restaurant. Watching the sunset over the Indian Ocean, from the deck, is the perfect way to begin your Maldives adventure.
Day 2: Malé – South Malé Atoll
We sail towards the Vaadhoo Kandu channel, en route for South Malé Atoll. In the morning and afternoon we visit the beautiful sandy banks of Kalhuhuraa. The remote spot is the perfect idyllic location to relax and soak up the sun.
You will find it difficult to resist taking a dip in the inviting aquamarine waters that surround you. On the charming island of Vaagali you can explore the caves where schools of stingrays are easily spotted. Vaagali Thila is the stunning coral where you can spot current cruising sharks.
Day 3: South Malé Atoll – Rannalhi – Villivaru Giri
We depart for the resort island of Rannalhi, located on the western tip of South Malé Atoll. The exotic destination offers easy access for reef snorkelling, and pristine beaches and spa facilities for luxurious relaxation. We visit Guraidhoo Corner, one of the best dive sites in the Maldives.
You can expect to see white tipped reef sharks, eagle rays and dogtooth tuna swimming in the tranquil waters. On arrival at Villivaru Giri, marvel at the spectacular fish life that gathers here. Join the optional night fishing trip to experience traditional line fishing in an unforgettable environment.
Day 4: Alimatha
In the early morning we cross the channel into Vaavu Felidu Atoll, en route for the island paradise of Alimatha. The 1kms of white sandy beaches and turquoise lagoons provide the perfect location for snorkelling and sunbathing. Gourmet lunch is served on board.
In the Miyaru Kandu you can watch schools of sharks and eagle rays cruising by. Turtle spotting is an experience you can enjoy while diving in Devana Kandu. On the optional night snorkelling excursion you can view huge nurse sharks, stingrays and trevallies in their natural habitat.
Day 5: Anbaraa
Enjoy a leisurely morning on the beautiful island of Anbaraa, located on the north west side of Vaavu Atoll. You can take to the waters for a snorkelling session at the reef, before diving at Rakeedhoo Kandu in the afternoon.
The corner of the channel is home to some of the Maldives’ most stunning corals and tropical fish. In the evening you are invited to a traditional Maldives’ style beach BBQ where you can relax and socialise. End the night with a spot of stargazing over the calm Indian Ocean.
Day 6: Anbaraa – South Ari Atoll – Oshagali Finolhu
We cross the channel to South Ari Atoll. Oshagali Finolhu boasts a stunning sea-green lagoon and a reef that is abundant in healthy hard corals that you can explore while snorkelling. Lunch is served on board before returning to the sand bank in the afternoon.
The protected dive site of Kuda Rah Thila is an excursion you won’t want to miss. View thousands of blue striped snappers from the top of the reef. We also visit the famous Machchafushi cargo freighter wreck that is covered in coral and sea life. The night fishing trip is an alternative option.
Day 7: Oshagali – Ariadhoo – Maamingili
From Oshagali we cruise to Ariadhoo, an uninhabited and agricultural Island that is now home to a coconut plantation. You can explore the remains of an ancient Buddhist stupa where monks once meditated, or relax on the gorgeous, warm white sands before swimming in the crystal clear waters.
Join the optional whale shark excursion. From the diving dhoni you can get up close to these gentle giants. In the late afternoon we visit Maamingili, the largest of the Alif Dhaal Atoll islands. Experience authentic and lively island life while you shop for souvenirs.
Day 8: Maamingili
The ship will be anchored in Maamingili for mid cruise passengers to transfer to Maamingili airport for arrivals and departures. You can spend the day relaxing or make plans to join an optional excursion or two.
A diving trip on a traditional dhoni can be arranged, to explore the protected marine area that surrounds the round shaped island. On dry land, you can wander through the busy main street, situated in the heart of the island, and enjoy the vibrant vibe. Don’t forget to shop for souvenirs and to sample the delicious local cuisine!
Day 9: Maamingili – Hurasdhoo
Remaining inside the atoll, we cruise to the small deserted island of Hurasdhoo. If you’re an avid snorkeller you will enjoy exploring the beautiful reef from this peaceful island utopia. Join the optional manta ray excursion to Rangali Madivaru, a reef plateau and manta ray cleaning station.
You’re likely to spot grey reef and silver tip sharks along the way. Optional diving excursions to Angaga Thila and Aiyabe Thila are also available. Tonight’s fishing trip offers an opportunity to try out traditional hand line fishing techniques and sustainable fishing practices.
Day 10: Hurasdhoo – Embudu
The enchanting deserted island of Embudu is our sunny destination today. The charming tiny island’s lush plantations and vegetation is surrounded by a stunning stretch of white sandy beach. Embudu Thila is a small pinnacle with a shallow top reef, healthy coral and plenty of fish.
You can snorkel here and also dive at Moofushi Kandu. The channel is teaming with fish life, eagle rays and grey reef sharks. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a turtle or two swimming by. An optional night fishing trip is also available.
Day 11: Embudu – Raiydhigaa
We set sail for the tropical paradise of Raiydhigaa. The breathtaking island boasts a natural harbour and a reef enclosed turquoise lagoon. Raiydhigaa’s inviting long, sandy stretch of beach is the perfect spot for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling.
Relax in this beautiful idyllic setting and enjoy a delicious picnic lunch, before returning to the ship in the afternoon. A diving trip to Dega Thila or Miyaru Gaa Thila is an alternative option if you want to spot lionfish, octopus, sharks and stingrays. In the evening, enjoy traditional Maldivian music and entertainment at the BBQ dinner.
Day 12: Raiydhigaa – Alikoi Rah
In the heart of Ari Atoll lies the sand bank of Alikoi Rah, surrounding a well-established reef. You will have plenty of time to snorkel and spot rays, fishes and turtles. Morning and afternoon diving excursions to Kandu Thila and the underwater pinnacle of the region known as Fish Head, can be arranged.
These channels and submerged reef locations are where you will discover the Napoleon (or humphead) wrasse, which is rarely seen elsewhere. In the evening, you can enjoy a drink while admiring the sunset, as we cruise to Maayafushi.
Day 13: Maayafushi
Maayafushi is a tiny idyllic island that is enveloped by lush green vegetation and surrounded by a beautiful white sand beach. Its prime location on the northern edge of Ari Atoll makes it a haven for flocks of seabirds. The reef boasts stunning coral and schools of fish that you can admire while snorkelling.
We visit one of Maldives’ most famous night dive sites, Maaya Thila. This is the favourite hunting ground of stingrays and sharks. You can also explore Bathalaa Maaga Kan, an extension of the reef that slopes down inside a channel.
Day 14: Maayafushi – Malé
We cross the Alihuras Kandu en route to Malé. Enjoy a leisurely last swim in the warm and tranquil Indian Ocean before we continue on to our final destination. On arrival in the city of Malé you have free time to explore the local attractions.
A visit to the colourful food and fish markets is highly recommended. Wander along the capital’s streets and admire the fine mosques and buildings that give Malé its unique character. You can sample traditional cuisine in one of the many friendly and welcoming restaurants and cafes situated nearby.
Day 15: Malé
At the end of your two weeks cruise enjoy a relaxing breakfast while admiring the views of the Indian Ocean for the last time. Your transfer for departure to the airport will be arranged for you. Say goodbye to your new friends and the crew, before you continue on your journey or return home.
