Day 1: Ashdod, Israel
On arrival in Israel transfer to Ashdod, the country’s largest port and sixth-largest city for embarkation at 16:00hrs. Relax in your spacious and comfortable air-conditioned cabin or explore the public areas of the ship at leisure. Alternatively, you can venture into the ancient city to admire the striking historic landmark attractions.
Visit the ruins of the 7th century Ashdod Yam medieval fortress and admire what was once the port of Ashdod. Back on board, you are invited to meet the captain, crew and fellow guests at the Welcome cocktail reception.
Day 2: Port Said, Egypt
We arrive in the Egyptian city of Port Said in the morning. Join our optional excursion to the sprawling, iconic capital city of Cairo to visit one of the most famous historic attractions in the world. Our English-speaking guide will share interesting facts and stories, as you explore the famed archaeological site of the Giza Necropolis, the Pyramids and Great Sphinx.
In the Egyptian Museum you can discover an extensive collection of treasures, including some of Tutankhamun’s. In the evening, our ship joins the convoy to cross the Suez Canal.
Day 3: Suez, Egypt
Enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast and relaxing day at sea, as our ship crosses the famous Suez Canal. Catch up on your reading, from the comfort of a sun lounger that’s strategically positioned on the sun deck, so that you can simultaneously top up your tan.
Get to know your like-minded fellow guests over a drink in the elegant air-conditioned bar, or simply admire the scenic views as we sail through the sea-level waterway that connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea. We arrive in Suez in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Suez, Egypt
Join our optional guided tour to the oldest active monastery in the world. The Coptic Orthodox Monastery of St Anthony is situated at the foot of the impressive Al-Qalzam Mountain, and dates back to 356 AD. Explore the self-contained village, gardens, mill, bakery and five churches that surround the fortress-like monastery.
Inside, you can admire the wall paintings of icons and holy knights, and the restored woodwork. There is also a library with an extensive collection of ancient manuscripts. On return to the ship, we sail for Hurghada in the late afternoon.
Day 5: Hurghada, Egypt
Enjoy free time relaxing in your cabin or on deck in the morning. Gourmet lunch is served with accompanying scenic ocean views on route to today’s destination. On arrival at the beach resort town of Hurghada, in the late afternoon, you can explore the Old Town of El Dahar and enjoy a traditional Egyptian coffee in one of the local coffee shops.
You can also shop for souvenirs to take back home. In the evening, enjoy cocktails and the company of your new friends at the Bedouin Evening with live music.
Day 6: Hurghada, Egypt
After breakfast we transfer to the ancient city of Luxor via bus and arrive at your deluxe hotel. After check in, join our optional private guided tour to the Karnak and Luxor Temples. Besides the collection of decayed temples, chapels and pylons, the Karnak Temple Complex boasts towering columns, huge pillars, a 97-ft tall obelisk and an avenue of sphinxes.
Located on the Nile River’s east bank, Luxor Temple is locally known as the ‘southern sanctuary’. Stroll around the graceful monument and take a moment to reflect on its rich history.
Day 7: Hurghada, Egypt
Join our optional excursion to the Valley of the Kings, early in the morning. Also known as the Valley of the Gates of the Kings, the famous archaeological site is located in an isolated valley that is protected by a pyramid shaped mountain, and is home to 63 royal tombs. We continue our sacred treasure hunt with a visit to the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut.
Built for the 18th Dynasty female pharaoh Hatshepsut, the architectural monument is widely considered to be a historic masterpiece. We end the tour at the Colossi of Memnon.
Day 8: Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
We offer you a choice of optional excursions today. Join our full day visit to St Catherine’s Monastery and pilgrimage site, or enjoy a snorkelling adventure in Sharm El Sheikh, the snorkeling mecca of the Red Sea. Officially known as the Sacred Monastery of the God-Trodden Mount Sinai, St Catherine’s Monastery dates back to the 4th century AD.
It is the site of the Old Testament’s story of the Ten Commandments, and features the Church of the Transfiguration, which dominates the sacred complex, and the mystical and legendary Burning Bush.
Day 9: Aqaba, Jordan
We arrive in the Jordanian port city of Aqaba in the morning. Join our optional private guided tour to Petra and discover one of the 7 Wonders of the World. The historic archaeological city is also known as the Rose City, due to the colour of its carved rock structure, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Inside the city lies a vast complex of temples, tombs, chambers and catacombs that you can explore at your leisure. We continue to the Siq Canyon and observe the 140-ft towering edifice of El Kazneh.
Day 10: Aqaba, Jordan – Eilat, Israel
There is time to enjoy one final excursion before your cruise comes to an end. Early in the morning we visit one of the world’s best diving spots, in Eilat. Enjoy an underwater adventure and spend some time admiring the beautiful endemic bird species that nest in the area.
We also visit the site of the Kings City biblical theme park, or Timna Valley Park, which features ancient copper mines. You will also have an opportunity to enjoy a camel ride. Disembarkation is at 9am. Transfer to airport for your return flight home.
