Day 1: Puerto Caldera Port – Isla Negritos, Costa Rica
Your Latin America adventure begins with embarkation at 3.00pm to 4.00pm. Board the cruise ship at your convenience, and relax in your luxury cabin. You are invited to the Welcome cocktail party at 7.00pm. You will be introduced to the captain and crew, and will have an opportunity to get to know your fellow explorers.
After cocktails, enjoy the Welcome dinner served on board. We arrive in Isla Negritos late in the evening. Absorb the atmosphere and look forward to a travel itinerary that is packed with tropical paradise hot spots.
Day 2: Quepos & Playa Bisesanz, Costa Rica
Morning arrival in Quepos. Join the optional excursion to the Manuel Antonio National Park. Situated on the Pacific coast, the relatively small park is the most visited in Costa Rica. Discover 109 species of mammals and 184 bird species among evergreen forests.
If you’re feeling adventurous, join the optional Forest Canopy excursion after lunch and explore the lush jungle from a zipwire above the treetops. In the afternoon, we sail to nearby Playa Biesanz for a swim. The tropical themed evening includes dinner and party. Late evening sailing to Golfo Dulce, Puerto Jimenez. Overnight at sea.
Day 3: Puerto Jimenez – Golfo Dulce, Casa Orquideas Private Reserve, Golfito, Costa Rica
We arrive in Puerto Jimenez early in the morning. The optional morning tour visits the Osa Peninsula, in the Puntarenas Province. Wildlife and nature enthusiasts will enjoy the visit to the Corcovado National Park, where you can explore the only remaining old growth wet forest on the Pacific coast, and 13 major ecosystems, including lowland rain forests and mangrove swamps.
Lunch is served on board, while sailing towards Casa Orquideas. Join the optional excursion to the floral sanctuary, and enjoy a swim after your visit. Overnight sailing to Cebaco Island, Panama.
Day 4: Caleta Caiman / Restingue Island, Panama, Cebaco Island
Morning arrival in Caleta Caiman, Restingue Island. Enjoy a swimming, diving and snorkelling experience on this idyllic paradise island. Around noon we sail to the nearby Cebaco Island, in the Veraguas Province.
Lunch is a BBQ on the white sandy beach. Relax and unwind in the beautiful scenic surroundings after lunch. The island boasts rolling hills, palm-fringed coves and dramatic rock formations. It’s not surprising that private islands in this Pacific location attract millionaires. In the early afternoon we continue cruising to Playa Muerto, Darien, in Panama. Overnight at sea.
Day 5: Playa Muerto, Darien, Panama
After breakfast, join the optional excursion to the Darien National Park. The UNESCO World Heritage site is an extensive wildlife park that is approximately 575,000 hectares. It features a wide variety of natural habitats, including sandy beaches, rocky coasts and lowland and upland tropical forests. The culturally and ethnically diverse protected area also boasts many archaeological findings.
You will have an opportunity to meet the Embera Indians, one of the 7 indigenous groups living in Panama. Learn about their culture, history and traditions. You also have free time to do as you please.
Day 6: Pearl Islands & Panama City, Panama
We set sail for the beautiful Pearl Islands early in the morning. Take advantage of the swimming and snorkelling opportunity, in the stunning archipelago of 250 tiny islets, most of which are uninhabited. Enjoy BBQ lunch on the pristine white sandy beach.
We continue cruising towards Panama City, arriving in Flamenco Marina in the late afternoon. You have free time to explore at your leisure. The optional excursion to Casco Viejo, in Panama City, takes you to the hippest neighbourhood, where you can enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in port.
Day 7: Panama City
In Panama City you can join the optional morning excursion to the Gatun Lake, and explore the Fort San Lorenzo Spanish historical forts. Visit the Panama Canal Expansion Observation Centre, in Gatun, and observe the majestic structure that is built at treetop height and the interoceanic waterway. Enjoy lunch in the park, while admiring the stunning landscape.
On return to Panama City, visit the Canal Museum and learn all about the construction of the world famous Panama Canal. Back on board the ship, join your fellow passengers at the captain’s Farewell Dinner.
Day 8: Flamenco Marina, Panama City, Panama
Having enjoyed the culture, natural history, breathtaking scenery and hospitality of Costa Rica and Panama, it’s now time to return home. After breakfast, bid farewell to your fellow passengers and the crew, and disembark between 6.00am – 9.30am.
